Trump then directed his criticism at Bessent who appears to have been in the audience for the speech. "You got to work on him, Scott. The only thing Scott's blowing it on is the Fed. Because the Fed, the rates are too high, Scott," Trump said. "And if you don't get it fixed fast, I'm going to fire your ass, OK?"

Healthcare providers across the country have closed clinics and hospital wards in the four months since Donald Trump signed into law the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the landmark tax-and-spending legislation that will lead an estimated 10 million people to lose their health insurance.
The law is expected to slash federal funding by hundreds of billions of dollars over the coming years, as part of Trump's campaign pledge to shrink government spending. But it will do so in part by paring back eligibility for Medicaid, the US government's health insurance program for low-income people; raising the cost of healthcare under the Affordable Care Act.

Day 309
A Thoughtful and Inspiring Thanksgiving message from the President:
Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
A very Happy Thanksgiving salutation to all of our Great American Citizens and Patriots who have been so nice in allowing our Country to be divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, and laughed at, along with certain other foolish countries throughout the World, for being "Politically Correct," and just plain STUPID, when it comes to Immigration. The official United States Foreign population stands at 53 million people (Census), most of which are on welfare, from failed nations, or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels. They and their children are supported through massive payments from Patriotic American Citizens who, because of their beautiful hearts, do not want to openly complain or cause trouble in any way, shape, or form. They put up with what has happened to our Country, but it's eating them alive to do so! A migrant earning $30,000 with a green card will get roughly $50,000 in yearly benefits for their family. The real migrant population is much higher. This refugee burden is the leading cause of social dysfunction in America, something that did not exist after World War II (Failed schools, high crime, urban decay, overcrowded hospitals, housing shortages, and large deficits, etc.). As an example, hundreds of thousands of refugees from Somalia are completely taking over the once great State of Minnesota.
Somalian gangs are roving the streets looking for "prey" as our wonderful people stay locked in their apartments and houses hoping against hope that they will be left alone. The seriously retarded Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz , does nothing, either through fear, incompetence, or both, while the worst
"Congressman/woman" in our Country, Ilhan Omar, always wrapped in her swaddling hijab, and who probably came into the U.S.A. illegally in that you are not allowed to marry your brother, does nothing but hatefully complain about our Country, its Constitution, and how "badly" she is treated, when her place of origin is a decadent, backward, and crime ridden nation, which is essentially not even a country for lack of Government, Military, Police, schools, etc...
Part 2:
...Even as we have progressed technologically, Immigration Policy has eroded those gains and living conditions for many. I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden's Autopen, and remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States, or is incapable of loving our Country, end all Federal benefits and subsidies to noncitizens of our Country, denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization. These goals will be pursued with the aim of achieving a major reduction in illegal and disruptive populations, including those admitted through an unauthorized and illegal Autopen approval process. Only REVERSE MIGRATION can fully cure this situation. Other than that, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything that America stands for — You won't be here for long!
Promoting reverse migration, a term is used as a euphemism for what critics describe as mass expulsions based on ethnic or racial criteria. On Thanksgiving. With a hint of irony.
Day 310
Reporter: Your Justice Department inspector general reported this year that these Afghans who were brought into the U.S. were thoroughly vetted by DHS and the FBI. So why do you blame the Biden administration?

The Autopen is not allowed to be used if approval is not specifically given by the President of the United States. The Radical Left Lunatics circling Biden around the beautiful Resolute Desk in the Oval Office took the Presidency away from him. I am hereby cancelling all Executive Orders, and anything else that was not directly signed by Crooked Joe Biden, because the people who operated the Autopen did so illegally.

Trump, in a new post, said he will issue a "full and complete pardon" to former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who was convicted of drug trafficking last year in the US and sentenced to 45 years in prison. Hernandez was convicted by a jury of conspiring to traffic 400 tons of cocaine into the United States and was "at the center of one of the largest and most violent drug-trafficking conspiracies in the world." Hernandez is responsible for the deaths of countless American citizens, but Trump says that he was treated "very unfairly."

As we continue along this journey, into places none of us has ever quite been before, it is worth holding close to our hearts the words of the Czech playwright and dissident Václav Havel. They moved me when I first read them, in the early 1990s, when so much was so different, and I have cited them several times since, but they hold more meaning now than ever. "I have few illusions," Havel wrote. "But I feel a responsibility to work towards the things I consider good and right. I don't know whether I'll be able to change certain things for the better, or not at all. Both outcomes are possible. There is only one thing I will not concede: that it might be meaningless to strive in a good cause."
New federal data shows a dramatic shift inside ICE detention centers. Nearly half of the more than 65,000 people held nationwide have no criminal record at all. Immigration crackdown: The Trump administration is set to begin an operation targeting Somali immigrants in the Minneapolis-St. Paul region, according to an official with knowledge of the plan and documents. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation comes as President Trump has used increasingly inflammatory language to attack Somalis in recent days.
The president has moved to end temporary legal protections for Somalis. Many of them have had the protections for decades under a program for migrants from countries in crisis. When asked by a reporter on Thursday what Somalis had to do with the accused Afghan shooter in Washington, Mr. Trump said, "Ah, nothing. But Somalis have caused a lot of trouble." (Headline from 2024: Some Somali voters say economy, social issues are driving them to vote for Trump.)

CDC advisers could reverse newborn hepatitis B vaccine recommendations. Hepatitis B vaccines given at birth have essentially eliminated the disease in kids. A vote this week could upend that success.
United States estimates: In the U.S., before 1982, it was estimated that about 200,000 to 300,000 people were infected with Hepatitis B annually, with about 20,000 of those being children.
Impact of vaccination: Since the introduction of the vaccine, there has been a dramatic decrease in new infections and deaths. For example, in the U.S., infections in children and teens have decreased by 99% since 1991 with only 19 cases last year.
Long-term impact: Without vaccination, an estimated 1.4 million people would die from HBV-related diseases in a given birth cohort (all those born in the same year), and without a vaccine, about 5 of every 10 deaths would be the result of infections acquired during early childhood.
Donald Trump has just pardoned Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar - and his wife Imelda - erasing all federal charges tied to their sweeping corruption and bribery scandal. Cuellar had been indicted for allegedly accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes tied to foreign interests and using his office to push favorable legislation. Prosecutors said the couple engaged in an elaborate scheme of money laundering, shell companies, and quid-pro-quo influence peddling.
UPDATE:
The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) claimed to have saved between $160 billion and $175 billion, but independent analyses indicate the actual verifiable savings are a small fraction of that amount, while some analyses suggest the actions could ultimately cost taxpayers over $135 billion.
Claimed Savings
DOGE's Figures: The agency's public "Wall of Receipts" claimed total savings ranging from approximately $160 billion to $175 billion. This figure included claimed savings from contract cancellations, grant terminations, asset sales, and workforce reductions.
Independent Analysis: News organizations and budget experts found these claims to be vastly overstated due to accounting errors (e.g., confusing "billion" with "million"), claiming credit for contracts canceled under a previous administration, and counting contract ceiling values (maximum potential spending) as savings rather than actual obligated funds.
A Politico analysis found actual savings from itemized contract cancellations were less than 5% of what was claimed.
A NPR analysis of early data found only about $2 billion in verifiable savings from the initial claims.
The Wall Street Journal analyzed $7 billion in canceled contracts and found actual savings were closer to $2.6 billion.
Estimated Costs
Independent analyses estimate that DOGE's actions could result in significant costs to the government and taxpayers:
Taxpayer Costs: One analysis by the Partnership for Public Service estimated that the costs could total $135 billion due to the need to retrain and rehire staff, lower productivity, and a drain of top talent from the federal workforce.
Lost Revenue: The Yale Budget Lab estimated that a projected 40% cut to the IRS workforce could result in over $323 billion (and potentially up to $2.4 trillion over a decade) in lost tax revenue due to lower compliance and fewer audits.
Economic Loss: Cuts to health and science research programs could result in billions of dollars in annual economic losses and job losses.
Lawsuits: The government also incurred costs when defending against lawsuits related to the firing of workers and cancellation of contracts without due cause.
HHS Moves to Kill Biden-Era Nursing Home Staffing Standards. The Trump administration on Tuesday issued an interim final rule withdrawing Biden-era staffing standards for nursing homes under Medicare and Medicaid. The withdrawal is the final step in the slow death of a rule meant to improve care in nursing homes, where limited staffing and the role of private equity has come under the microscope following the Covid-19 pandemic. The withdrawn Biden administration rule established minimum staffing thresholds for long-term care facilities, prompting Republican states and industry groups like LeadingAge and the American Health Care Association to sue over what they called an existential threat to nursing homes nationwide.

Heritage Foundation brings in Scott Yenor. Yenor believes that employers should be legally permitted to discriminate against women in the workplace, and has advocated for legal changes that would allow businesses "to support traditional family life by hiring only male heads of households, or by paying a family wage" —that is, denying women jobs solely on the basis of their sex or paying men more for performing the same job as women. He also believes that "governments should be allowed to prepare men for leadership and responsible provision, while preparing women for domestic management and family care."

As Vote Nears on Hepatitis Shot, Criticism About Quality of Data Presented to Panel. The morning session of the federal vaccine panel appointed by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was marked by accusations of cherry-picked data in presentations on the vaccine's safety. The committee's decisions are not legally binding, but they have significant implications for whether private insurance and government assistance programs are required to cover the vaccines. Some high-income nations like Denmark - invoked by Dr. Nevison in her presentation and by others in comparing vaccination schedules - immunize babies at birth if the mother is known to be infected, and delay the first dose to 8-weeks-old for all others. But those countries offer nationalized health care and are able to diagnose most women who may be infected, public health experts have pointed out. Each year in the United States, more than 17,000 infants are born to women who have hepatitis B. But nearly one in five pregnant women are not tested for the virus, and only about one in three women who test positive receive care, according to a report released on Tuesday by the Vaccine Integrity Project, an initiative dedicated to safeguarding vaccine use in the U.S.

Supreme Court to Hear Major Test of Trump's Power to Fire Officials. The court's conservative majority has generally let President Trump remove leaders of independent agencies, at least temporarily.
On Monday the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Trump v. Slaughter, a case that will decide whether to grant the president, for the first time in American history, the power to fire the heads of virtually all independent agencies at will. This would be a vast transfer of power from Congress to the president. The Constitution doesn't explicitly grant the president any such power, and nearly a century ago, the court unanimously rejected an argument that the president possessed it. Today's Republican-appointed justices appear to be firmly under the sway of an atextual and ahistoric theory.

NYT article about the misogyny in the Republican Party. Today, however, Republicans are much less defensive about being the party of chest-beating patriarchy. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has purged women from the highest ranks of the military. Johnson has attributed school shootings to the "amoral society" wrought by "radical feminism" and the sexual revolution and has said Americans should strive to live by "18th-century values." Vice President JD Vance is famously contemptuous of women without children.
There's been less public alarm about the resurgence of unapologetic misogyny. Last month, there was an uproar over the support that the Heritage Foundation's president, Kevin Roberts, offered to Tucker Carson after his softball interview with Nick Fuentes, the influential antisemite. We've seen far less backlash to Heritage's hiring of Scott Yenor, who believes that workplace discrimination against women should be legal, as head of its B. Kenneth Simon Center for American Studies. Among the sort of young men who revel in transgressive antisemitism - which is to say, among much of the conservative movement's rising generation - calls to repeal women's right to vote have become commonplace.
Supreme Court weighs Republican appeal to end limits on party spending in federal elections. The Supreme Court's conservative-leaning majority seems poised to scrap a 90-year precedent that has insulated the deep state for decades. Justices are weighing whether an elected president can remove executive branch officials serving on supposedly "independent" commissions or boards, and whether blocking the president from doing so violates the constitutional principle of separation of powers. This specific case regards President Donald Trump's ouster of Federal Trade Commissioner Rebecca Slaughter. If the justices uphold Trump's firing of Slaughter, that might overturn the precedent set in Humphrey's Executor v. United States (1935), which also dealt with the FTC. In the New Deal-era Humphrey's Executor case, the Supreme Court ruled that Congress could enact laws limiting a president's power to fire "independent" agency executive officials.

U.S. President Donald Trump's approval rating is in a "black hole" with young people, a data analyst has said. Harry Enten, CNN's chief data analyst said Trump's approval rating had declined by 56 points since February and that swings like this were rare in politics. Speaking on CNN, Enten said while Trump had initially performed well with young voters, his approval rating had plummeted. Citing CBS News/YouGov polling, he said Trump's approval rating among adults aged 18 to 29 had declined from +10 percentage points in February, to -46 points in December. A Fox News poll found in November that 76 percent of voters view the economy negatively. This makes Trump less popular on the economy than former President Joe Biden. At the end of his presidency in 2024, Fox News polling showed that 70 percent of people had a negative view of the economy.

Senate Republicans want to give Americans up to $1,500 to cover health expenses rather than extending enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies that have lowered health insurance costs for millions of Americans. Republican Sens. Mike Crapo and Bill Cassidy on Dec. 8 unveiled a bill that would deposit $1,000 to $1,500 into health savings accounts for eligible consumers. This money would be in lieu of extending COVID-19-era enhanced tax credits that sharply reduced health premiums under the Affordable Care Act, often called "Obamacare." Under the Crapo-Cassidy legislation, the federal government would deposit $1,000 into a health savings account for consumers ages 18 to 49 or $1,500 for consumers ages 50 to 64.
How much health care can I get for $1,500? The health savings account deposit wouldn't be enough to cover the average deductible for most ACA bronze or catastrophic plans.
In 2026, the average deductible for an individual bronze Affordable Care Act plan is $7,476, according to an analysis by KFF, a health policy nonprofit. The deductible is the amount consumers must pay for in-network services before most coverage kicks in. But Obamacare plans must cover the full cost of nearly two dozen preventive care services such as immunization and screening blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and colorectal cancer.
Currently, Obamacare enrollees never see the funds from their tax credits, which instead are sent directly to insurers. President Donald Trump has suggested that consumers would rather see the money themselves, what little of it there is. Republicans' plan purports to take the burden of negotiating insurance rates away from health care providers and large companies and place it on individuals, so they can "feel like entrepreneurs," according to Trump.

MIAMI (AP) - President Donald Trump's zero-tolerance immigration policy split more than 5,000 children from their families at the Mexico border during his first term. Border crossings sit at a record low nearly a year into his second administration and a new wave of immigration enforcement is dividing families inside the U.S. Federal officials and their local law enforcement partners are detaining tens of thousands of asylum-seekers and migrants. Detainees are moved repeatedly, then deported, or held in poor conditions for weeks or months before asking to go home. The federal government was holding an average of more than 66,000 people in November, the highest on record. During the first Trump administration, families were forcibly separated at the border and authorities struggled to find children in a vast shelter system because government computer systems weren't linked. Now parents inside the United States are being arrested by immigration authorities and separated from their families during prolonged detention. Or, they choose to have their children remain in the U.S. after an adult is deported, many after years or decades here.

Truth Social Post from December 9:
There has never been a President that has worked as hard as me! My hours are the longest, and my results are among the best. I've stopped Eight Wars, saving many millions of lives in the process, created the Greatest Economy in the History of our Country, brought Business back into the United States at levels never seen before, rebuilt our Military, created the Largest Tax Cuts and Regulation Cuts, EVER, closed our open and very dangerous Southern Border, when previous Administrations were unable to do so, and created an "aura" around the United States of America that has led every Country in the World to respect us more than ever before. In addition to all of that, I go out of my way to do long, thorough, and very boring Medical Examinations at the Great Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, seen and supervised by top doctors, all of whom have given me PERFECT Marks — Some have even said they have never seen such Strong Results. I do these Tests because I owe it to our Country. In addition to the Medical, I have done something that no other President has done, on three separate occasions, the last one being recently, by taking what is known as a Cognitive Examination, something which few people would be able to do very well, including those working at The New York Times, and I ACED all three of them in front of large numbers of doctors and experts, most of whom I do not know. I have been told that few people have been able to "ace" this Examination and, in fact, most do very poorly, which is why many other Presidents have decided not to take it at all. Despite all of this, the time and work involved, The New York Times, and some others, like to pretend that I am "slowing up," am maybe not as sharp as I once was, or am in poor physical health, knowing that it is not true, and knowing that I work very hard, probably harder than I have ever worked before. I will know when I am "slowing up," but it's not now! After all of the work I have done with Medical Exams, Cognitive Exams, and everything else, I actually believe it's seditious, perhaps even treasonous, for The New York Times, and others, to consistently do FAKE reports in order to libel and demean "THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES." They are true Enemies of the People, and we should do something about it. They have inaccurately reported on all of my Election Results and, in fact, were forced to apologize on much of what they wrote. The best thing that could happen to this Country would be if The New York Times would cease publication because they are a horrible, biased, and untruthful "source" of information. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Info about the ACA to remember:
The Affordable Care Act subsidies brought down costs
More than 24 million people have Affordable Care Act health insurance, a group including farmers, ranchers, small business owners and other self-employed people who don’t have other health insurance options through their work. Enrollees who make less than 400% of the federal poverty level qualify for permanent subsidies in the program that help them offset premium costs. In 2021, Democrats in Congress added additional subsidies, known as enhanced premium tax credits, that apply to enrollees regardless of their income. Those COVID-era subsidies are the ones slated to expire on Jan. 1. With the expanded subsidies, some lower-income enrollees received health care with no premiums, and high earners paid no more than 8.5% of their income. Eligibility for middle-class earners was also expanded.
Democrats back an extension, while Republicans pitch swapping subsidies for savings accounts
The plan championed by Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer would allow the vast majority of Affordable Care Act enrollees to keep benefiting from the enhanced subsidies for an additional three years. It would save millions of Americans money in the short term – and allow some who might otherwise consider skipping coverage to stay insured.
Republicans on Thursday will back a different proposal from Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La) and Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Id) to scrap the subsidies in favor of health savings accounts that will be funded for the next two years. To be eligible, enrollees would have to choose a lower-cost, higher deductible bronze or catastrophic health insurance plan and make less than 700% of the federal poverty level. Those aged 18 to 49 would get $1,000 a year, while those 50 and up would get $1,500. The money could be spent on health costs like copays, deductibles, or any other qualified health-related items directly from companies. But it couldn’t be used on premiums – which health analysts warn could pose a problem when low-income Americans must first afford coverage to get access to the cash.
Cassidy and Crapo say their bill provides better support to Americans than the expiring subsidies do because it hands money directly to the people, giving them the power to decide how to spend or save it — a message President Donald Trump has echoed in recent weeks. Democrats disagree and argue the GOP plan leaves Americans without help for their high premiums, encouraging the purchase of junk plans that provide bad coverage.
